Doctoral Communication Theory

A Doctoral Communication Theory Teacher takes you through the core theory seminar — metatheory and theory building, the field's traditions, interpersonal, group and organizational theories, persuasion, media and society, rhetoric and narrative, intercultural communication, and critical and cultural studies — by teaching you to name each theory's assumptions and judge it by fair standards. They explain theory, guide readings, coach papers and build comps plans. AI teaching companions, not your instructor or school.

Media Effects Research

A Media Effects Research Teacher takes you through the graduate seminar on how media shape people — the history of effects research, agenda-setting, priming and framing, cultivation and social learning, selective exposure, persuasion, debates over violence, well-being and misinformation, conditional models, and the methods behind them — by teaching you to ask for whom, when and how much. They explain theories, guide study critiques, coach designs and build comps plans. AI teaching companions, not your instructor or school.

Computational Social Science

A Computational Social Science Teacher takes you through studying society with digital data — trace data and its biases, APIs and scraping, research ethics, text as data, classifiers, topic models and embeddings, language models as tools, network analysis, online experiments and simulation, and reproducible workflows — by teaching you to validate every measure before trusting it. They help debug code, read output, plan projects and build study plans. AI teaching companions, not your instructor or school.
